? What are fire-rated downlights?
Fire-rated downlights have intumescent hoods that seal the ceiling opening in a fire, preventing flames spreading to the loft. Required by Building Regulations for insulated ceilings.
? Can I use LED bulbs in old halogen fittings?
Sometimes, but not ideal. LED retrofit bulbs work but integrated LED downlights are more efficient, look better, and last longer. We recommend replacing the entire fitting.
? What is colour temperature?
Measured in Kelvin (K). 2700K is warm white (cozy, yellow tone like old bulbs). 4000K is cool white (bright, clinical for kitchens/bathrooms). 3000K is neutral (in between).
? Do I need special dimmers for LEDs?
Yes. Old dimmers cause LED flickering. We install trailing-edge dimmers designed for LEDs. They provide smooth dimming from 100% to 1% with no buzzing.

? Can I have different brightness in different rooms?
